My life shall not go in vain

If I can extend my hand to the poor boy

And bring a smile, a moment of Joy

If I can fix a broken heart

And help to join the peices apart

If I can show the burried gem

To see the rose ,and not its stem

If I share the lamenting lady’s greif

And despite the tragedy bring some relief

If I can encourage

And repair the damage

If I can manifest the love in my heart

And learn this beautiful art

Then beyond boon and bane

Beyond pain and gain

I shall be content

For my life shall not go in vain

My life shall not go in vain.
